About
The initial days at a university are stupidly challenging because most students don’t know how they are supposed to adapt their studying habits and techniques to better suit the new academic environment they find themselves in. Not to mention the professors teach in a way which assumes students to be familiar with coursework fundamentals, irrespective of whether the student has a background in that subject or not.
It’s really demotivating and many students’ grades suffer as a result. A lot of them lose momentum and the lack of motivation carries forward into their second, third, and fourth years at the university. Even if someone recovers later on, the damage done in the first two semesters is significant and students are mostly unable to reach the level of academic achievement they hoped for at the start. Adding insult to injury, you now have to learn the fundamentals of various subjects on your own which requires tremendous discipline and grit, something that is highly rare among people without any external support.
I made Kensial because the traditional way of learning at universities is highly inefficient and boring for most people. Students want to be able to view lectures at their own pace and have a preference for teachers who are in similar circumstances in terms of their age and life stage which allows them to connect with students better. Currently, there is only one course available on the website which is completely free. If it takes off, I might start adding more courses over time.
